It’s the return of Oscar® madness at the Avalon! If you’re like us and have the strong need or desire to see all the Best Picture Nominees (along with Best International Film, Director, Original and Adapted Screenwriting and all the Acting categories), we’ve got you covered! From now until the Oscar Broadcast on ABC on March 2, the Avalon will feature over a dozen Academy Award® Nominated films so you can dominate your Oscar pool!

Earlier this year in August we featured the powerful SING SING, CONCLAVE was a massive hit in October, and A REAL PAIN also enjoyed a terrific run starting in November. We’ll assume everyone already has seen those, and of course A COMPLETE UNKNOWN and SEPTEMBER 5 are still playing at the theater. Here’s the plan to round out the Best Picture and many other Categories:

This Friday, February 7, International Feature Film nominee THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE will join A COMPLETE UNKNOWN and Original Screenplay nominee SEPTEMBER 5.

Coming February 14-20, look for WICKED, THE SUBSTANCE, DUNE PART 2 and the THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG playing all week. Also during that week, don’t miss International Feature nominee FLOW, playing February 15th-17th as a part of our Weekend Family Matinee program, and the film with the highest number of nominations (13) EMILIA PÉREZ, on February 19 as a part of our popular French Cinematheque program.

On February 21, the plan is to feature ANORA, THE APPRENTICE, NICKEL BOYS and the popular 2025 OSCAR NOMINATED SHORT FILMS (Animated, Documentary and Live Action).

And then finally, if the stars align, on February 28, THE BRUTALIST and I’M STILL HERE.

Ambitious? You bet! But we’re up for the challenge and we hope to see you multiple times this February, watching the best films of 2024 at your favorite neighborhood theatre!
