Saint Frances
Please note: If you run into any issues, please email info@oscilloscope.net.
NEW: Purchasers will also be able to watch an exclusive filmmaker thank you and Q&A. This will be in an email from the Avalon.
Dear Valued Friend of the Avalon,
As you know, due to the global pandemic, we are currently closed. This past weekend, we were set to open SAINT FRANCES.
We have been working with Oscilloscope, the film’s distributor, to come up with a method for our dedicated patrons to see this film during its theatrical release phase, and at the same time, support the Avalon during this strange and challenging time. Although SAINT FRANCES will not be available for public rental or sale for several months, we wanted to make it accessible to you now for home viewing.
Here’s how this would work: For $10, the cost of a bargain matinee movie ticket, Oscilloscope will email you a link to the film, which is viewable on any internet-connected device including laptops, tablets and smartphones. If you have the appropriate technology, you may be able to stream this to your television at home from your computer or phone. This link will give you access to the film for 48 hours after it is emailed to you. The charge will appear on your credit card statement as SP Oscilloscope Labs.
This solution is the result of a brainstorming session between the Avalon and Oscilloscope and, well, it’s an experiment. Please understand that an Oscilloscope employee is fulfilling these requests manually so you may not receive your link immediately. We may run into some kinks along the way, so we appreciate your patience and understanding. More than anything, we appreciate your support!
Sincerely,
The Avalon Team
About the film:
Flailing 34-year-old Bridget (Kelly O’Sullivan) finally catches a break when she meets a nice guy and lands a much-needed job nannying six-year-old Frances (played by a scene-stealing Ramona Edith-Williams). But an unwanted pregnancy introduces an unexpected complication. To make matters worse, she clashes with the obstinate Frances and struggles to navigate a growing tension between Frances’ moms. Amidst her tempestuous personal relationships, a reluctant friendship with Frances emerges, and Bridget contends with the inevitable joys and difficulties of becoming a part of someone else’s family.
